Ramblings of a Sorta Single Mom

Ya, you guessed it.  I did it.  I traded in my car for the 2007 Sentra!!  LOL   As Robyn said, I caved in.  I think in teh long run though I ended up with a better deal.  I didnt have any negative equity roll over from the old car, got a good rebate which acted like a down payment, my interest rate is lower than before, and since my insurance rates dropped I’m actually saving $10 a month over all after the trade.  Can ya beat that??  The only downer was the one I wanted wasn’t in stock.  For tha tmuch money I’m not backing down on certain things and one was I want the 6 speed, not an automatic.  The only ones on the lot are automatic’s so they had to order mine.  The sales guy said no later than Wednesday but as early as Monday.  The earlier the better cause I’m anxious to have my new car!! LOL  It’s a metallic grey color and has all the power options, CD player, cruise control, etc.  I’m so excited!!!

 

My service guy gave me a loaner car today while mine was in the shop.  I joked previously about them giving me either the 07 or 08 Sentra as a temptation to trade up.  Well guess what.  I got the 08 Sentra fully loaded.  Oh My Word!!   Now I really want to trade up although I’m not entirely sure it would be a wise idea.  I only bought my car a year ago so I’m just now getting out from under the depreciation on my car.  So my trade would put me in the negative.  They would probably have to have a decent cash back incentive for the new car just to make it break even but then there is no down payment.  I’m tempted to just ask into it tomorrow when I go to take the rental back.  I’m loving driving it though.  They completely redid teh body.  There is so much more leg room in back and headroom all around.  The back seats, the seat folds up in a way that it allows the back part to fold flat and create a box sort of effect.  That opens to the trunk which is so much bigger than mine.  It also sits much higher and honestly, it feel a good bit sturdier.  Not to mention the engine power.  My car has pretty good pick up but geesh….this one has some get up and go!!  The new one was different though.  It’s a 6 speed standard which I have yet to figure out why you would need a 6th gear.  And reverse you gotta pull up in a way and move it up and to the left.  It was wierd at first but now I can do it with out thinking.  Bluetooth in the system and radio controls on the stearing wheel.  And tons of storage space all over the place.   Hmmmmmm…………….This repair just might end up costing me more than I thought!

Managed to avoid a big repair bill today.   Turns out the fuel pump in my car went bad.  Didn’t think that would be the case on a 1 year old car but I’m sure stranger things have happened.  I must say though…thank god for warranties!!
