Bargains on the East coast to

Heidi isn’t the only one getting bargains today.  I had to work till 1pm so afterwards jayden and I headed to a thrift store that I love.  I wanted to see if they had any fall/winter stuff out yet b/c I’m in serious need of pants for her.  The girl is in 5T pants at not quite 4 years old because of how tall she is.  I just can’t bring myself to put her in jeans that are too short just because they fit perfect in the waist.  Luckily I’ve found a belt she can manage pretty well.  Really she does fit 3T pants in the waist, and sometimes even a 2T b/c she is so tiny that way.  But length wise her 4T pants are almost to short.  So, we hit the thrift store and unfortunatelyd idn’t find any pants.  But I did find a very cute Osh Kosh rain coat for $2.  Perfect condition and should hopefully last her through the year.  A good pick for her starting school in September.  I also scored 4 shirts, a skirt, and 2 pairs of shoes.  My grand total.  $6!!!  Yes, I love this store.  Sometimes I only walk away with a couple things and other days I find tons of stuff.

On another note I also had to do some grocery shopping.   I had a bit more left over in finances this payday and I decided to use that to really stock our pantry as to be honest, it’s been pretty bare lately.  In the old days I would have had tons of coupons to use and our Krogers always doubles up to $.50.  If your patient you can score soem great deals.  Today however (since I haven’t cut a coupon in months) I decided to venture to the local Save-A-Lot store which is actually 1 block over from the thrift store.  Purchased 65 items for a grand total of $60.  The only meat I got was some hot dogs and some smoked sausage as we already had beef and chicken in the freezer.  But I stocked up big time on canned veggies, canned fruit, dry goods etc.  I actually had to organize the pantry to get it all in there.  My freezer is also packed full as I also hit the discount bread store.   Needless to say we should be good for quite awhile.  Although I want to follow Heidi’s food storage example and always have the extra on hand.  I have a better set up in this new place for storing it so hopefully it will be easier.

Definitely a good day today!

295

Thats how many DVD’s I have.  I can full a1 full 5 shelf book case and 3 shelves on another one to store them all.  And I just finished putting every single one of them in alphabetical order!  No, I’m not one of those obsessive people that must have all the labels of their canned goods facing forward.  I do like to have my DVD’s in order though so it’s easier to find what I’m looking for.  At least when I know I’m looking for “Just Married” I know the shelf it’s on rather than looking through possibly 7 shelves to find it.  At our old house I always tried to keep them in order to.  Having my sis and all those kids there though made it nearly impossible.  My sis was famous for not even puttin ghte dvd’s back in their cases.  When we moved I swear I found nearly 20 dvd’s just stacked up, and the cases on the shelf.  Good way to ruin a DVD right!   So anyways, thats my blog for today.  Wasn’t sure what to think of anything else!

Blushing like a teenager

Yup, I still blush when a guy is blatantly flirting with me.  Even if it is over the telephone.  I have a client who has several large policies I manage.  One of them is the single largest policy I’ve ever written in the 8 years I’ve been in insurance.   Can you imagine sending someone a $10,000 bill for a policy??  Yes, you read those zero’s right.  LOL  Anyways, I had to call the owner the other day for something important but b/c I’ve been traveling a lot I used my cell phone and left him that number.  Today he calls me back and starts talking about how he thought I was calling to give him my number so he could take me out to dinner.  Then he proceed to ask me!!  I seriously turned every shade of red and the man couldn’t even see me.  I’m 27 years old….I shouldn’t be responding like a giggly teenage girl.  I should be used to things like this.  Of course it didn’t help that my coworker figured out what was going on from my side of the conversation and proceeds to start laughing and making little comments while I’m on the phone.

Needless to say no dinner date was set. I think there’s probably an unwritten rule somewhere about not dating customers.  Especially ones with very large accounts.  I could just see it going really bad and then having to explain to my boss why that policy is suddenly leaving.  Not my idea of a fun event.

I see this guy on a regular basis though so we’ll see how it goes.  He’s actually pretty cute and always like to make me laugh.  Either way, it was still flattering to be asked out.  Even if I really shouldn’t accept.
